HUNGARIAN VOLUNTEER SENDING
FOUNDATION
Profile:
Established by private individuals in 2002, the Hungarian
Volunteer Sending Foundation was an officially registered
body in 2003 with the goal to address venturesome people
to carry out development, humanitarian and aid projects,
and to prepare them for the projects' cross country execution.
The further aim of the foundation in a joint venture with
voluntary sector organisations is to participate in the
preparation of legal, institutional, financial requirements
of volunteering in Hungary, and to promote the acceptance
and respect of volunteering attitude on a social level by
organising public events.
Activities:
The months' long preparation of volunteers consists of organised
language learning, preparation and actualisation of education
materials, organisation of trainings. The task of the foundation
is to secure a position for volunteers in various projects,
to support them infrastructurally, financially and mentally
during the period of the project, to monitor their work,
and to help volunteers to return to every-day life when
already at home. Today, there are over 20 ready-to-go volunteers
waiting for the opportunity to join a project, and further
volunteer training is in progress.
