ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION NETWORK
Profile:
The Environmental Education Network was founded in 1994
by some dedicated environmental educators. Currently, it
works with 4000 environmentally-conscious colleagues. The
association aims to create peace among mankind, to educate
and teach environmental issues, to improve environmental
protection. The association intends to build a bridge between
social organisations, public agencies interested in this
field, and dedicated colleagues.
Activities:
The main issue of the Association is the spreading of public
awareness in environment and nature protection. There are
four essential initiatives in the work of the association.
One of them is the editing, the national and foreign distribution
of the free newsletter called "Net", the second
activity is the operation of a wide-range database, the
next initiative is the organisation of the tree planting
project supported by the Hungarian Agricultural Ministry.
Besides these, for years the Association has been implementing
the international Globe program in Hungary. Among the plans
of the association is to participate actively in the forming
and creating the conceptual background of Development Education,
