BOCS FOUNDATION
Profile:
Founded by private individuals in 1994, the foundation was
officially registered only in 1994, although its mission
- according to the Environmental Protection Encyclopedia
- started already in 1975. The goals of the foundation are
to spread initiatives for raising public awareness for a
sustainable ecological development, environmental preservation
and nature protection, work towards peace, solidarity, international
development cooperation, women rights and their education,
child, and the protection of further generations.
Activities:
The foundation holds trainings, and gives lectures in environmental
protection, peace movements, and third-world development.
Its webpage serves as a database and archive in several
fields, ever since its 1995 start. The organisation propagates
by email, translation, and periodicals, with the help of
young volunteers at youth programs, festivals and camps.
Helps global education and peace campaign in schools and
churches both nationally and internationally. On an international
level, its major project since 1977 is the financing of
ESP (Education Sponsorship Programme) school network in
the state of Gujarat in India from Hungarian donations.
In 2004, over 35 thousand poor children have studied in
a hundred schools.
