ARTEMISSZIO FOUNDATION
Profile:
The foundation was established in 1998 for the improvement
of intercultural relationships, and for supporting the social
integration of the underprivileged. The founders are young
anthropologists, who search the possibilities for joining
scientific research and social activities. The foundation's
objectives are to foster and build cultural, scientific,
and personal partnerships between Hungary and other European
countries, and to promote equal opportunities for groups
in a disadvantageous social position within Hungary.
Activities:
Among the activities of the foundation, there are trainings,
compilation of training materials, execution of research
projects, encouragement of mobility in Europe, field-work,
organisation of events. Artemisszio has been participating,
for years, in the training of volunteers and employees in
cooperation with the Handicap International Centre in France.
A cooperative Central and Eastern European project dealing
with immigrants and asylum seekers is currently under preparation.
The foundation aims to expand its partnership network outside
Europe, and would be willing to participate in the preparation
of those volunteers and employees, who travel abroad along
with humanitarian and development organisations; as well
as to organise programs aiming at raising public awareness.
